During diode laser hair removal treatment, laser energy absorbed by melanin in hair follicles can be converted into thermal energy to damage follicles. Then hair falls out due to damaged hair follicles. Melanin in dark skin can also absorb laser energy. Darker skin absorbs more laser energy. Thus diode laser hair removal needs to be used carefully in dark skin type patients.
For some thick hair, there are hair roots (about 0.5cm) under skin. And these hair roots will fall out after treatment. Thus it looks like “growing hair”. One week after treatment, the remaining hair root left in the hair follicles will fall out after rubbing in the bath. This may happen to patients with thick hair.
This is an allergy. First treat allergies by taking anti-allergic medicine orally or externally; then find the causes of allergy such as food allergy or environmental allergy, etc. If the causes are not clear, the patient can continue to try to accept treatment on small skin area one month later and observe whether allergy occurs. But thick hair(thick hair is when there's a lot of hair per square inch of scalp) such as whisker requires more treatments because there are more than one hair (two or three hairs) in each follicle;
White skin requires higher energy during treatment, and it is better to repeat the hair removal operation for several times during each treatment. For patients with white skin, less treatment times are needed while patients with darker skin need more treatments because energy level shall be controlled during treatment to avoid scald.
